Indonesia represented by CIOFF Indonesia and AL Azhar 19 Cibubur Junior High School was successfully attracted the audiences of the 15th Gangneung International Junior Art Festival. This year, Al Azhar 19 Cibubur Junior High School participated in cultural mission that held from July 29th until Aug 1st in Gangneung, South Korea. The group itself has 23 members that consisted of 20 students as dancers and musicians, 2 teachers companions, and 1 official from CIOFF Indonesia (Ms. De Rembulan Ayundhasurya) acted as representative.

The 15th Gangneung International Junior Art Festival is followed by seven countries: Indonesia, Thailand, Russia, Japan, Mongolia, China, and South Korea. Indonesia once got the opportunity to have a longer performance than the other countries and amazed all the audiences and the organizers that has given standing applause to the team. Indonesia team also got the attention from a local media in South Korea, named MBC News, by interviewing the teacher and representative, and also asking for some quick playing of the musical instruments.

There were several activities besides cultural performance in Gyeongpo Beach and Dan-O Cultural Park. All the participants from all of the countries enjoyed some outdoor games, parades, art-work exchange in the museum of art, and also draw their own creation of paintings.

The festival was successfully held with outstanding performances from those seven countries and the organizers hope to see Indonesia’s performances again in the next festival.
