115 JHS Amazing Performance on International Children Folklore Festival in Sale, Morocco

The students of 115 Junior Highschool back in cooperations with CIOFF Indonesia to participate in an international cultural mission. To introduce Indonesian traditions, this time they represented Indonesia in International Children Folklore Festival in Sale, Morocco. After rehearsing for months, they were ready to depart on 21st of July 2016. They presented Tifa dance, Saman dance, Greget Jawara dance, Yapong dance, Enggang and Balian dance. Besides the dancer team, the musician from 115 JHS also added with western instruments such as saxophone and violin.


The festival was attended by 17 participants which were Indonesia, China, Pakistan, Kyrgyzstan, Algeria, Libya, Slovenia, Russia, Hungary, Lithuania, Serbia, Senegal, United States of America, Palestine, Poland, and Morocco. All of the delegates participated in a parade around the city and the opening ceremony. The festival itself has its own highlight, which is the “Calling for Peace”, it is a pact of world peace held at the Parliament, and also the signing of world peace mission.


The performances from 115 JHS students were awe-inspiring. The audiences’ appreciation was amazing. Several local medias also covered and interviewed the Indonesian delegates. Besides presenting performances on stages in Sale and Kepitra, Morocco, they also got the opportunity to perform at the Indonesian Embassy, presenting Greget Jawara dance and Yapong dance, and then also a collaboration of saxophone and violin of Indonesian national and traditional song. Because of their amazing performance, the students received a recognition from the Indonesian Ambassador for Morocco. Good job, 115 JHS!
