Universitas Padjajaran Bandung Succesfully Amazed The 24th EIFOLK International Folklore Festival

Universitas Padjajaran Bandung was successfully amaze the audiences of  the 24th EIFOLK International Folklore Festival Zaragoza - Spain that held from September 2nd until September 6th. The group it self has 12 dancers and 7 musicians with Mrs. Fitria Sawfini as group Director and Miss Nur Aini Prastuti as group choreographer. The festival was participated by 7 countries including Indonesia. They were Argentina, Mexico, Bangladesh, Indonesia, Slovenia, Russia, and Hungary.

At the first day of the festival all groups were doing the parade at the city center called Plaza Del Pilar. And had the 5 minutes performance each group. There, Indonesia was performing Balian Bajo dance from Kalimantan. But after the parade at Plaza Del Pilar their performance did not finish yet. They still had one performance in the end of the day at the small town near Zaragoza. And they performed for 1 hour and was dancing all the dances (Nandak ganjen dance & Greget Jawara dance from Betawi, Yapong dance from java, Tifa dance from Papua, Piring dance from Padang, Enggang & Balian Bajo from Kalimantan) excluding Saman dance. And they got a big applause from the citizen who came and watch their performances.

In this festival each country should send 2 couples to learn Spanish dance that would be performed at the closing ceremony. The dance it self called Kotha Dance. From Indonesia group we send Ayya, Aida, Benyamin, and Agam.

At closing ceremony, Indonesia group were performed the amazing Saman dance. The closing ceremony was held in a very big auditorium in Zaragoza. Every country who participate in the festival were performing very well. And also Indonesia was successfully amazed the audience. The President of the festival said that he was very happy to saw Indonesian performance. And it was the dance that he was waiting for along that night.

Great job Universitas Padjadjaran Bandung, keep proud and spread our culture to people around the world.
